Macau received 2.44 million visitor arrivals in July, a 4.2 percent decrease from the same month last year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSCE) said in a statement yesterday.
It was the third successive month of a year-on-year decrease in visitor arrivals, The Macau Post Daily pointed out.
The daily average of visitor arrivals stood at 78,853 last month.
Same-day visitors accounted for 48.9 percent of all visitor arrivals.
Visitors stayed an average of just one day.
Mainlanders accounted for 59.6 percent of all visitors. Hongkongers made up 26.1 percent of the total number.
Some 97.7 percent of all visitor arrivals were from Asia.
In the first seven months, visitor arrivals totalled 16.02 million, an increase of 1.4 percent. (macaunews)
