Ferry service operator TurboJet will start a passenger ferry service between Tuen Mun and Macau in the first quarter of next year, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Turbojet, a brand owned by Hongkong Macao Hydrofoil Company, Limited, a subsidiary of Shun Tak – China Travel Shipping Investments Limited (ST-CTSI), won a tender to manage the Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal in Hong Kong and operate passenger ferry services between Tuen Mun and Macau, as well as ports in the Pearl River Delta.

According to the statement, the seven-year tenancy agreement for the Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal will begin on November 16. The Tuen Mun-Macau ferry service will start in the first quarter of next year.

According to the statement, the Tuen Mun-Macau route will take about 35 minutes. Daily sailings will run between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the first three months of operation and will be extended to 10 p.m. in the next phase. The company said it aimed to offer the service at 30 minute intervals every day.

Previous Macau-Tuen Mun ferry services turned out to be flops.
