Macau’s South Korean visitor arrivals rose 49.5 per cent to 47,957 in June, the highest increase of any visitor segment, according to figures released by the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) last week.
The total number of visitor arrivals rose 4.9 per cent year-on-year to 2.36 million last month. However, month-to-month, the figure was down 4.8 per cent.
Overnight visitors rose by 13.9 per cent to 1.22 million, accounting for 52 per cent of the total. Same-day visitors dropped by 3.3 per cent to 1.13 million.
Mainland Chinese visitors rose by 5.7 per cent year-on-year to 1.51 million. Hong Kong visitors decreased by 2.3 per cent to 511.692. Taiwanese visitors rose by 19.1 per cent to 95,600.
In the first half of the year, the number of visitor arrivals rose by 0.1 per cent year-on-year to 14.76 million, including 312,600 South Koreans, up 6.5 per cent.
