The “reimagined” Sands Cotai Central, “The Londoner Macao”, will open progressively throughout next year starting in the first quarter, with the “official ceremony” set in early February, Sands China said in a statement on Tuesday.

Chinese New Year falls on February 12 next year.

The statement quoted Las Vegas Sands President and Chief Operating Officer Robert Goldstein as saying that the 16 billion-pataca investment in The Londoner was a “clear signal that we believe Macao’s future as one of the world’s most important leisure and business destinations remains on course.”

According to the statement, The Londoner Macao comprises five hotel brands – The Londoner Hotel to open in early February and Londoner Court to open later next year, as well as the existing Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao and The St. Regis Macao – altogether providing over 6,000 guestrooms.

The Londoner Hotel alone will have about 600 suites, in addition to 14 “Suites by David Beckham” which will be launched later next year, as part of a collaboration with the English former professional footballer.

The statement said that bookings for The Londoner Hotel began on Tuesday for a stay period starting from 22 January. An opening hotel package is priced from MOP 2,398, the statement said.
