Macao’s mega Greater Bay Area (GBA) tourism drive kicked off with its first roadshow at Aoyuan Plaza in Zhuhai yesterday.

The Experience Macao, Unlimited Caravan Roadshow, which is organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is set to tour the region to introduce Macao’s tourism+ elements including events, gastronomy, travel tips and special offers.

The caravan turns into a stage for shows, while there are also outdoor interactive zones such as a game booth and a parent-and-child workshop. Macao’s six major integrated resorts also ran promotional booths. Participants can redeem gifts and enter a lucky draw to win a one-day pre-wedding photography package in Macao.

The MGTO also invited the Economic Development Bureau of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, as well as the Zhongshan and Zhuhai tourism offices to join the roadshow to promote multi-destination travel among the destinations, while online travel agencies (OTAs) are selling various tourism products.

The MGTO continues to partner with airlines and OTAs under the new My Treat for You, See You in Macao theme to release special offers for mainland Chinese visitors throughout the year, such as buy-one-get-one-free flight tickets. A Macao Pass with a value of MOP 50 will also be given upon purchase of any Macao tourism product, with a 50 per cent-off Macao hotel coupon at the roadshows.

In related news, the 10-day Seventh Macao International Lotus Calligraphy Art and Ink Painting Exhibition Touring in the Greater Bay Area – Zhuhai which includes a collection of calligraphy artworks and lotus blossom ink paintings also started yesterday.

It is held at the China Red Sandalwood Museum Hengqin Branch and is organised by the Delight (Macao) Calligraphy Association with the support of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, The Macau Post Daily reported.
