Macau’s 98 hotels and guesthouses recorded 852,000 guests last month, a year-on-year decrease of one percent.
While guests from Hong Kong (102,000) and Taiwan (31,000) dropped by 25 percent and 15 percent respectively, those from the mainland (547,000) rose six percent.
The number of guest rooms reached 27,800 at the end of last month. The average occupancy rate stood at 82.7 percent.
The number of hotel guests rose one percent year-on-year to 8.06 million in the first nine months. (macaunews/macaupost)
