The Macau Grand Prix Family Carnival will take place at the Coloane Karting Track this Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on both days.

According to a government handout, the event is designed “to give residents and tourists an early taste of the atmosphere of the Macau Grand Prix”, which will be held in November.

Carnival-goers aged 18 or over, and in possession of a light motor vehicle driving licence, will be able to try out a go-kart – the open-wheeled vehicles seen as the stepping stone to all higher forms of motorsport. There will also be games for younger visitors and karting and motorcycle races.

Shuttle buses to the track will operate on both Saturday and Sunday, departing from the Macao Forum, Taipa Central Park (near Towers 9-11 of Nova City) and Seac Pai Van Integrated Shopping Centre.

More information about the event is available at the Macau Grand Prix website or from the Macau Grand Prix app.

This year’s Macau Grand Prix is the 70th iteration of the iconic event and will be held on 11-12 and 16-19 November. Authorities are confident that the Guia circuit will see a return of Formula 3 racing, suspended since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic
