A host of international table tennis stars including China’s Fan Zhendong and Hugo Calderano from Brazil are lining up for the WTT Champions Macao 2022, which will take place from 19-23 October.

The event will feature 32 players in the men’s singles and 32 in the women’s singles. Famous names include Ma Long, Sun Yingsha and Chen Meng from mainland China, Tomokazu Harimoto and Mima Ito from Japan, Truls Möregårdh from Sweden and Adriana Díaz from Puerto Rico.

Matches will be held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 10 am to 4:40 pm, and 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The finals on 23 October will start at 6 pm. The event has been co-organised by the Sports Bureau (ID), World Table Tennis (WTT) and the Macao Table Tennis General Association in conjunction with Galaxy Entertainment Group as the title sponsor.

The organisers said that both standard and courtside VIP tickets will be on sale from 10 am today, adding that members of the public can buy tickets in advance online or by phone. Tickets can be purchased at Kong Seng outlets, mainland sales offices, or at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from October 19 to 23.

Tickets for each session are priced between MOP 200 and 800, depending on different match dates and seats; a maximum of four tickets per person per session will be allowed.

ID President Pun Weng Kun told the press conference that the WTT Champion Macao 2021 China Stars event held earlier this year had not only won the support of the local public, but also attracted many tourists from mainland China, which has promoted the development of sports tourism in Macao, The Macau Post Daily reported.
