The Health Bureau (SSM) is recalling “SALONPAS ADVANCED FORMULA PATCHES (6.5cm x 4.2cm)” manufactured by Japan’s Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co Inc, according to a statement from the bureau on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the bureau is recalling the product because the manufacturer discovered that it is lacking some of its main ingredients and the quality of the product is below the company’s high standards, which may affect the efficacy of the remedy. The statement added that the manufacturer requested the product recall.

The statement said that according to Macao’s import records, the patches are sold in community pharmacies. The bureau urged residents who have bought the product to contact a pharmacist. However, it did not tell them to stop using the product.

For more information, contact the Health Bureau on 8598 3453.
