Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng is on his way to pay a four-day duty visit to Beijing.

The Macao Government Information Bureau said Ho will brief China’s leaders on the local government’s work in 2021 and his policy guidelines for the next year. His visit will end on Christmas Eve.

Ho will visit a number of ministries and commissions during his stay in the capital, and will be accompanied by his Chief-of-Office, Ho Lai Fong. Secretary for Administration and Justice André Cheong Weng Chon will be acting chief executive while Ho is away.

Ho’s Hong Kong counterpart, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, left for her duty visit to Beijing on Monday, and is due to return home on Thursday, The Macau Post Daily reported.
