Chief executive-elect Sam Hou Fai and the 10 newly picked senior members of his cabinet fronted the media yesterday at a press conference held at Government Headquarters.
During the event, Sam told local media that the nominations were accepted by the State Council on Saturday, noting that his cabinet consisted of 5 members already serving in the government, as well as 5 others who previously served in important roles in earlier SAR administrations.
The 62-year-old judge turned politician said the members in his team had demonstrated qualities such as devotion to Macao, as well as rich administrative experience and understanding of the public’s needs.
Appointees were given opportunities to address the media. Incoming secretary for economy and finance, Tai Kin Ip, said he aimed to help small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to become more competitive by developing their capabilities and changing their business models.

The chief executive-elect also mentioned that his team would “diligently” prepare for the 2025 Policy Address and listen to the opinions of experts, scholars, civil organisations and various community members.
