Understanding citizens’ concern about his health, Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On told reporters on Thursday before the opening ceremony of the 21stMacau International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) that he was recovering well after consulting a doctor.

Chui said he wore thin clothes last Monday, when Premier Li Keqiang arrived for an inspection tour, pointing out that the wind was blowing hard.

“[The wind was so strong that it] caused me to catch a cold. And I had a backache,” Chui said how he felt during Li’s speech at the local airport upon the latter’s arrival.

Worried citizens noticed that Chui was walking with a slight limp and seemed unsteady on his feet that day. “After attending some diplomatic activities,” Chui said, “I went to see a doctor and have been taken some medicine. I am recovering well. Don’t worry.”

Chui also said he was taking his doctor’s advice and exercising more and eating less fatty food. However, Chui said he had a hectic schedule and it was difficult to get enough time to rest.
