Chief Executive appoints seven deputies for the Legislative Assembly

The Macau Legislative Assembly is composed of 33 members: 14 directly elected, 12 indirectly elected and 7 appointed by the Chief Executive of Macau.

The Chief Executive of Macau, Chui Sai On has appointed the remaining seven deputies for the 6th Macau Legislative Assembly today.

Chu Sai On appointed three professors from the Macau University: Fong Ka Chio, director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming; Iau Ten Pio, Assistant Dean of Faculty of Law and Coordinator of the Bachelor of Law in Chinese Language Programme and Lao Chi Ngai, research manager of the Centre for Macau Studies.

He also appointed Pang Chuan, Director of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Macau University of Science and Technology, lawyer Chan Wa Keong, Civil Engineer Wu Chou Kit and Ma Chi Seng, General Manager of Cheong Wah Hong Corporation Entertainment and Investments Limited.

The Macau Legislative Assembly is composed of 33 members: 14 directly elected, 12 indirectly elected and 7 appointed by the Chief Executive of Macau. The new legislature, Macau’s sixth since 1999, will begin work on the 16th October.
