The Secretary for Economy and Finance Leong Vai Tac said, in Beijing, that the Macau government is working hard to fulfill the Central Government’s instruction to diversify the economy of Macau, and to encourage all locals to take roles in the development of the Greater Bay Area Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau.
Leong Vai Tac was speaking during meeting with Zhang Xiaoming, Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office of the State Council.
Secretary Leong Vai Tac briefed Zhang on Macau´s participation in the GBA plan and its role as a service platform for economic and trade relations between China and the Portuguese speaking-countries.
Leong also said to Zhang that preliminary economic diversification is already underway.
Progress of work in the areas of local talent development and the Guangdong-Macau Cooperation Park in Hengqin (Zhuhai) were among the topics discussed during the meeting.
Zhang Xiaoming recognised the work done by Macau government is aligned with the overall instructions by the Central Government and encourage Macau to continue the economy diversification and the cooperation with Hengqin.
According with a official statement the main purpose of the three day visit is to meet a number of ministries and other central government entities.(Macaunews)
