The Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) has launched its summer programme, covering workshops, shows and movies targeted mostly at families with children.
The programme kicks off on 1 July, with the “ARTmusing Summer Workshops”. The sessions are billed as a way to “immerse both kids and grownups into the art world”. Little ones will have their senses exposed to “sound and movement”, while bigger children will have the opportunity to try drawing, singing and performing. There are also dance and acting sessions for seniors.
From 14-16 July, the Deep Blue theatre uses found objects, sand, water, sound, light, and puppetry to bring the ocean alive for younger children.

The Beijing Da Shan Pai Theatre Art Center meanwhile stages its multi-media show The Little Prince’s Star Journey from 12-13 August. Based on the novella by French writer Antoine Saint-Exupéry, the show features beautiful puppetry projected onto the big screen.
From 24-27 August, a mini film festival screens several inspiring family-friendly features that, the programme promises, will encourage children to “explore the world [and] develop independent thinking, unleashing their potential”. Other programme items include an “ARTmusing Fun” day on 27 August, and the immersive, nature-themed show Sweet Dream in the Woods from 20-24 September.
Tickets for all programmes will be on sale from 4 June via the Macao Ticketing Network and pre-registration for workshops has begun. For more details, visit the CCM’s website.
