Melco’s towering integrated resort complex Studio City is now a Certified Autism Center – a designation it received from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) after staff underwent extensive training with the organisation.
Studio City is the first integrated resort in Macao to earn the status, which means it is well-equipped to accommodate people with autism and other sensory disorders, along with their families, according to an IBCCES press release. The resort features attractions like the Golden Reel, Super Fun Zone and Studio City Water Park.
The property’s senior vice president Kevin Benning said the new credentials reflected Melco’s aims “to promote inclusivity and accessibility for guests” and set an example for “fellow industry stakeholders.”

“We strive to work collaboratively with IBCCES in training our colleagues – to help them develop a better understanding of autism and other [forms of neurodivergence], which enables us to further elevate our guest service experience at Studio City’s world-class attractions,” he said.
On its website, IBCCES describes itself as having been the leader in cognitive disorder training and certification for healthcare, education, and corporate professionals around the globe for the past two decades.
To be a Certified Autism Center, at least 80 percent of front-facing staff must have met IBCCES standards.
