The Health Bureau (SSM) has confirmed 3 locally contracted cases of dengue fever.
The two latest confirmed patients are the 31-year-old son and six-year-old nephew of the first victim of the disease transmitted by mosquitoes, an SSM statement pointed out.
Following the three cases, the bureau has launched a mosquito eradication and dengue awareness campaign for residents in Rua de Pedro Nolasco da Silva, Rua do Campo and Travessa dos Anjos, where the three patients live, work or go to school, according to the statement.
While the two adults have meanwhile recovered from the disease, the boy was still hospitalised when the statement was issued on Friday.
The statement pointed out that none of the three patients had left Macau in the two weeks before they showed having dengue symptoms, because of which their cases were classified as locally contracted.
