The Macau government published on Monday an executive order exempting street vendors, secondhand dealers and other traders from paying licence fees this year.
The government also exempted Municipal Market stall lessees from paying rentals this year.
The fee and rental exemptions were published in the Official Gazette (BO) on Monday. Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng’s executive order on the exemptions is backdated to January 1.
Moreover, the executive order delayed the deadline for renewing street vendors and stall owners’ annual licences from last and this month to March 31.
The fee and rental exemptions were informally announced by the government early this month as part of its string of COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
Macau has confirmed 10 novel coronavirus cases – seven tourists from Wuhan and three locals. The last two cases were diagnosed on February 4. Six of the 10 patients have meanwhile been discharged from hospital.
