Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced today that Macao’s 46th confirmed novel coronavirus patient was discharged today and transferred to Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública for a 14-day recovery isolation period.
The 57-year-old male Filipino Macao resident arrived on 25 June from Manila. After arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport, he took the 2 pm ferry for Macao and after sampling at the Taipa Ferry Terminal in Pac On, he was sent to a government-designated hotel for isolation. He was confirmed positive on 26 June and admitted to the isolation ward of Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for treatment. According to a government source, the patient has been classified as an imported case.
His nasopharyngeal swab virus nucleic acid test came back negative on 14 and 16 July, meeting discharge criteria. He was discharged today for a 14-day recovery isolation period at the Centro Clínico de Saúde Pública.
All have Macao’s 46 cases have now been discharged, with 44 classified as imported by the Health Bureau (SSM) and two classified as cases connected to imported ones. The first wave lasted from 22 January until 4 February. The second wave began 15 March and lasted until 8 April.
