All 16 dog parks will reopen during the government’s anti-Covid-19 consolidation period starting tomorrow, the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) has announced.

The bureau said that from Saturday residents will be allowed to walk their dogs in the street as long as they comply with the government’s Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

The IAM added that on entering dog parks people must wear a KN95 facemask or one with a higher standard, scan the contact-tracing QR code, undergo a temperature check and show their green Macao Health Code when entering the parks.

The dog parks will be open daily from 7 am to 12 am during the consolidation period.

The bureau noted that it will limit the flow of people when necessary, so as to avoid a crowd gathering, adding that more workers will clean and disinfect the parks’ facilities at regular intervals.

The bureau also announced that some of its public facilities, including the Macao Reservoir Walking Trail, Guia Hill Fitness Trail, and two cycling lanes in Cotai, will reopen for people to walk only during the consolidation period, so as to relieve the pressure of staying in their homes for a long time.

The bureau urged people to use the facilities at staggered hours, adding that measures will be taken to limit the number of people using the sites, in order to avoid crowd gathering.

The fitness trails and the two-cycle lanes will open daily from 7 am to midnight. Walkers must wear their KN95 facemask or one of a higher standard, and scan the venue QR code while undergoing a temperature check when they enter the areas; they must also hold a green Macao Health Code.

In line with the Health Bureau’s Covid-19 prevention and control guidelines, only walking will be allowed along the fitness trails and the two bike lanes; people will not be permitted to jog, cycle, use the exercise equipment or do any other vigorous sports activities, The Macau Post Daily reported.
