Saturday’s Covid-19 tally hits 106 as city begins to open up

Health officials reported 106 new cases of Covid-19 in Macao on Saturday. Cases included 54 women and 52 men, aged between six and 79; 44 individuals had symptoms while the other 62 were classified as asymptomatic.

Among the 106 Covid-19 cases, seven cases were detected in medical observation hotels and hospitals and found to be under control; 99 cases were detected in the community, including 30 by antigen self-tests, 54 found by nucleic acid tests (NAT) with mixed samples carried out in Macao, three by NATs with mixed samples carried out in Zhuhai, and 12 by close contact.

In addition, 24 of them are cases imported from mainland China, 13 are related to the imported case, and 69 whose sources are being investigated.

From 28 November to 10 December, 337 people infected with Covid-19 were registered by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre.
