Certain roads in Macao will be affected by New Year events between 30 December and 1 January, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) says.

To accommodate the Saint Silvester Road Race, multiple roads in Cotai, including Estrada Flor de Lótus and roads near the Macau East Asian Games Dome and the Macau University of Science and Technology, will have restricted traffic flow, or be completely shut off, between 9:00 am on 30 December to 10:00 pm on 31 December. Bus routes such as the MT4 and 51 will also be adjusted during this period.

There will be other partial or complete road closures on the Macao peninsula and in Taipa, due to countdown celebrations.

Some of the affected thoroughfares include those that are close to Barra, Macao Tower and the Taipa Houses Museum. Several buses that travel through these areas will also see changes in their routes.

TDM meanwhile reports that the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal will temporarily suspend all ferry services on Tuesday 2 January, so as to accommodate construction work on the fourth bridge. Travellers are warned that services next Monday and Wednesday could also be cancelled or adjusted.

Macao will be holding multiple events to usher in the new year, including the Macao Countdown Concert at Sai Van Lake Square, which will feature Brazilian singer, Lia Sophia, as well as the Taipa Countdown Show at the Taipa Houses, headlined by Hong Kong popstar, Joey Wong
