Barra Station is scheduled to open on 8 December, according to an official announcement, with the inaugural train departing for Taipa Ferry Terminal station at 6:30 am.

The new service will enable passengers to travel between the peninsula and Taipa for the first time via the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) system.

Trains departing from Barra Station will connect to Taipa via the lower deck of the Sai Van Bridge.

The entire project has cost 1.178 billion patacas and the line has been undergoing testing since March of this year.

There are two other LRT lines, the Seac Pai Van Line and Hengqin Line, slated to open in 2024.

New bus routes are meanwhile set to transfer passengers from Barra station to the Border Gate and Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.
