A new bus route, number 61, will run between Barra Public Transport Interchange and the Border Gate, catering to passengers at Barra LRT station when it opens next Friday.

Jointly operated by Transmac and TCM, the number 61 bus will operate every 10 to 20 minutes daily between 6 am to 11:30 pm, the Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced in a statement yesterday. The bus service to Barra LRT station commences operations on 2 December.

The northbound route will go via Rua do Almirante Sérgio, Ponte 16 and the Qingmao Port, while southbound buses will go via the Qingmao checkpoint, Auto-Silo Pak Kong and A-Ma Temple.

Meanwhile, existing bus routes will be adjusted. The 10A will now be called the number 60 and instead of going through Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro (often called by its Cantonese name San Ma Lo) will be routed from Barra to NAPE.

The 5AX will now be known as the number 65. When Barra bound, it will take a route through NAPE instead of Avenida Dr. Rodrigo Rodrigues as previously.

When northbound, it will be rerouted along Avenida do Ouvidor Arriaga and terminate at Rua dos Currais.
