A total of 402 new Covid-19 cases were registered in Macao on Tuesday, comprising 202 women and 200 men, aged from below one to 92 years old, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has announced.

Among the new cases, 112 had symptoms and 290 were asymptomatic. Two cases were detected under control in medical observation hotels or hospitals, while the rest were found in the community.

Five of the 400 cases detected in the community were close contacts, 153 were detected in self-administered rapid antigen tests (RAT), 210 in mixed nucleic acid test (NAT) samples and single samples in Macao, four in single NAT samples in Zhuhai, while 28 were from emergency services and people who got a fever and went to a health clinic, according to the Centre.

From 28 November to Tuesday, 1,325 Covid-19 cases were recorded in Macao.

In related news, people testing positive in RATs are now classified as positive for Covid-19 and they must follow the guidelines to conduct an online self-assessment. They do not need to undergo a NAT. After reporting their positive RAT results, their Macao Health Code will become red.

After the assessment, they will receive instructions on whether to conduct home isolation or make an appointment for a visit to a community clinic for positive cases, where doctors will again assess the cases to decide whether they need to be hospitalised and what kind of medical treatment they need. If they need to be hospitalised, they can either stay in a medical observation hotel or hospital facility for isolation and treatment.

For older people, if they cannot conduct an online assessment, they can directly go to the community clinics for positive cases to receive treatment or they can contact a support hotline for positive cases on 2870 0600.
