Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng reaffirmed his commitment to the zero Covid-19 policy during a Macao-Zhuhai pandemic prevention meeting via videoconference that took place as Ho visited the Civil Protection Operation Centre at the Immigration Department Building in Pac On in Taipa yesterday.

Pledging to ensure the population’s health and safety, Ho said the Macao government strives to bring the current outbreak under control as soon as possible, aiming to have entry requirements from Macao to Zhuhai gradually eased, according to the Government Information Bureau.

The chief executive added that Macao had achieved preliminary success in containing the ongoing outbreak, which has been going for a month, underlining the pandemic prevention measures implemented at different stages since 18 June. He also thanked the central, Guangdong provincial and the Zhuhai municipal governments for their help.

Ho was particularly thankful to Zhuhai for guaranteeing the supply of daily necessities to Macao and sending medical workers to help the city cope with its series of mass nucleic acid testings.
