The 2026 Macao International Environmental Co-operation Forum & Exhibition (MIECF) is set to expand its focus on fostering global green business opportunities by significantly optimising the layout of its Green Showcase. The event, hosted by Macao’s government, will run from 26 to 28 March 2026 at the Cotai Expo at the Venetian, under the central theme of “Low-carbon and Zero Waste Cities: Embarking on a Global Collaboration.”
Covering an expansive area of 12,000 square metres, the showcase will introduce three new, industry-oriented themed zones. This restructure aims to provide exhibitors and trade visitors with an immersive environment to explore fresh opportunities arising from international innovation in environmental technologies, spanning everything from waste management and the circular economy to sustainable building practices. These changes are intended to support zero-waste city development while accelerating green economic growth.
The newly established Zero-waste Circular Economy Exhibition Zone is dedicated to the latest advancements in resource recycling, zero-waste innovation, and green building. In a move to support the Macao government’s policy for eco-friendly transport, the Green Mobility Zone will highlight new energy vehicles, charging infrastructure, and other green transport solutions. Finally, the Green and Low-carbon Project Zone will focus on carbon-neutrality strategies, ESG initiatives, and case studies in green investment, providing significant impetus to industrial upgrading and innovation.

The exhibition promises a concentrated display of cutting-edge green technologies with direct applications across various industries and daily life. Examples set for presentation include the world’s first carbon capture partition; a carbon-sequestration autoclaved aerated concrete technology used by the Chinese mainland’s inaugural zero-carbon flagship fast-food chain; Macao’s first dry-process pulp recycling system; eco-friendly antibacterial meal boxes made from rice husks; and Macao’s first platform for trading second-hand goods. These examples aim to demonstrate support for sustainable industrial development while enriching the real-world application of green technology.
Internationally, MIECF aims to deepen regional and global environmental exchanges by bringing together major energy companies from the Fortune Global 500, key environmental firms from the Chinese mainland, and environmental organisations from Portuguese-speaking countries, alongside top technology brands from across the world. The number of international exhibitors and buyers is projected to surpass figures from last year, creating a powerful platform for participants both at home and abroad to forge new co-operation agreements.
Beyond the main exhibition, the MIECF will feature a series of concurrent activities designed to promote green exchange. These include the 2nd Global Carbon Credit Market Development Forum, themed business matching sessions, green roadshows, and green workshops.
