Air Macau appears to have re-launched its much-anticipated direct flight to Indonesia’s capital Jakarta after cancelling its first attempt last month. The new date is set for 28 November.
The Macau Daily Times reports that Air Macau’s NX910 and NX909 flights are scheduled to fly every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, from Macao to Jakarta and vice versa.
The first of these flights had been scheduled to depart Macao on 29 October. Instead, it was postponed, with Air Macau giving “capacity restrictions” at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport as the reason.

According to Air Macau’s website, the new flight – set to depart on the 28th – will take off at 12.25 pm and touch down in Jakarta at 4.20 pm. Total flight time is just under five hours.
The Macao-Jakarta route is part of the government’s efforts to attract more international tourists to Macao, and reduce its dependence on the domestic tourist market.
As of September, Indonesia was Macao’s second biggest source of foreign arrivals – and fifth overall (after China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines). There is also a sizable Indonesian population living and working in Macao.
