Lausanne, Switzerland, 18 May – The International Gymnastics Federation(FIG) has suspended Macau and 10 other countries for failing to pay dues to the sport’s ruling body.

The governing body said the 11 are Cyprus, Indonesia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Macau, Macedonia, Paraguay, Seychelles, Syria, Tajikistan, and Yemen.

FIG rules bar the countries from organizing or competing in international events, and contacting other national federations.

The world governing body says the 11 can be reinstated “once their dues have been settled.”

A total of 14 countries are now suspended from world gymnastics, including North Korea, which falsified a gymnast’s age.(MacauNews/Sports)
