Autumn arrives with a little something for everyone, whether you’re into sun-kissed pool parties, Italian aperitifs, rosé-infused pampering or re-energising workouts.

This weekend, music, film and art hounds have plenty to choose from, too.

– Documentary films galore 

16 Sept-2 Oct: Kicking off at CGV Nova Mall Cinemas in Taipa, the 6th Macao International Documentary Film Festival is screening 30 documentaries from leading directors across the world, including Chinese filmmaker Zhou Hao.

– A splashing good time

17 Sept: Cap off the summer with a pool party and free-flow drinks at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, featuring live music from BE-ATS and LP Resistance

– Time to play 

24-30 Sept: Dubbed Yes Can Do, the International Custom Art Toy Pop-up Show will showcase the best of the buzzing art toys universe from local and overseas creatives, plus guided tours, a toy-painting workshop and more. 

– Music to your ears 

25 Sept-29 Oct: After a two-year hiatus, the 34th Macao International Music Festival promises to captivate the city with an array of concerts, talks, masterclasses, workshops and community activities.

– Art meets science 

Through 21 Oct: Artist Leong Chon explores the technicalities and ideology behind his work at the non-profit organisation Art For All. True to its name, his solo exhibition, “Fake-Art-ism, has been curated by artificial intelligence. 

– Head in the clouds

Through 28 Oct: Step into Wong Weng Cheong’s cloudy universe at Taipa Village Living Space. Dubbed “Catch it Outside 2.0”, the artist’s solo exhibition features hyper-realistic etchings crafted using a mix of traditional printmaking and 3D printing techniques. 

– Into the Metaverse 

Through 23 Feb: “Dream Space: New Wave in the Metaverse”, a new exhibition at The Parisian Macao, aims to blur the digital and physical realms with over 40 pieces of crypto art and an edible NFT dining experience.

– All-new Barstories   

22 Sept: Vida Rica Bar’s iconic Barstories series, which welcomes acclaimed international mixologists, returns with a night of handcrafted cocktails by Wymen, owner of Guangzhou’s MASSminor bar. 

– Negroni state of mind 

Through 25 Sept: Negroni Week, an annual fundraising event for the Slow Food movement, is in full swing. In Macao, The Four Seasons Hotel will be stirring up four creative takes on the bitter aperitif at Xiao Ting restaurant.

– Pink all the way 

Through 30 Sept: Treat yourself to some pink-hued TLC with The Manor x MHD x Valentino Beauty Pink Indulgence experience. Sip on bubbly Provence rosés, nibble on gourmet bites and, then redeem a gift from the Valentino Beauty Boutique upon spending MOP 300 or more.
