Macau, China, August 27, 2011 – Serbia, Russia, Brazil and USA will
attempt to book its finals ticket in the intense semifinals showdown of
the 2011 FIVB World Grand Prix at the Macau East Asian Games Dome
today.
Crowd favorites Brazil will take on the tall Russian side.

Brazil have the advantage over the Russians as they have yet to lose a match in the competition.

Russia have raised their game as evidenced by their easy win against China.

The young Brazilian player Natalia Pereira will be a good help for Sheilla Castro in running the Brazilian offense.

Russia will expect bigger games from Ekaterina Gamova and Natalya
Goncharova to be able to match the level Brazil is playing at the
moment.

Pool B winners Serbia will go against the defending champions USA.

A win in the semifinals by any of these two teams will not only mean booking a ticket for the finals.

For USA, it will give them another chance to defend their title, while
for Serbia, it will mean one of the most successful stints in the World
Grand Prix since it is their first time to participate in this
competition.

In the classification matches, China will face Italy in the battle for 7th place.

Thailand and Japan will fight for 5th place in the second match.

Thailand’s impressive games against China, Russia and Serbia have proven
that Thailand is all business in the World Grand Prix.
