Legendary Canadian-American singer-songwriter Paul Anka is coming to Macao, performing one show only at the MGM Theater at MGM Cotai on 20 May, with tickets starting at 880 patacas.

Anka is reportedly the only artist to have had hits in the Billboard charts in seven consecutive decades, producing over a long, storied career such iconic songs as “Diana” and “Put Your Head on My Shoulder”.

Born in Ottawa to Lebanese Christian migrants, Anka is still touring the world at the age of 81, and comes to Macao as part of his Anka Sings Sinatra tour. Other dates in the tour include Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo on 13, 15 and 23 May respectively.

Anka famously wrote the English lyrics to Frank Sinatra’s signature song, “My Way”. (The actual melody was that of the French ballad “Comme d’habitude” composed by Jacques Revaux.) But his own songs have sold in their tens of millions worldwide.

In 2006, Anka won a new generation of fans with his Rock Swings album, covering songs by Nirvana, Oasis and Billy Idol, among others.

He was married in July last year to his longtime girlfriend, Lisa Pemberton.
