Macau, China, 14Dec – Macau won 8 gold medals in the 2009 East Asia Games that close Sunday in Hong Kong.

On the last day of the events Qin Zhijian won gold in Wushu – Sanshou 60 kg Men and Cai Liangchan in Wushu – Sanshou 70 kg Men.

Also on Sunday Zhang Zhibo and Zhang Dan won the gold medal in Badminton Doubles Women.

Macau won a total of 29 medals – 8 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze – and took the six place in the rank by gold in the competation ahead of DPR of Korea, Mongolia and Guam.

Gold medals also went to Zhang Shaoling in the weightlifting 69kg women’s and, Jia Rui l in Wushu (Taolu) – Changquan Men.

In Cycling – Indoor, Kuan Sok In / Kuan Sok Mui won gold in Pair Artistic Cycling Women, Kuan Sok Mui also won gold in Single Artistic Cycling Women and Wong Hang Cheong also get gold in the Single Artistic Cycling Men.

The East Asian Games, featuring nine teams and 22 sports, close Sunday with People’s Republic of China in first place followed by Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong and Chinse Taipei.
