Kenya’s Julius Kiplimo Maisei, won the 42.195 – kilometre Macau Marathon on Sunday  with a time of 2 hours 14 minutes and 45 seconds.

Maisei, that also won last year Macau marathon was 2 seconds faster than his compatriot Dominic Kangor Kimwetich.

After the race he said that he would return for next year Macau Marathon.

Six thousand runners from Macau and overseas took part in the race.

Macau runner Chan Chong Ip and Lau Kwong Man from Hong Kong took 14th and 15th place respectively.

Flomena Chepchirchir Chumba, also from Kenya, won the women’s Macau Marathon, with 2:33:24.

Edinah Jeruto Koech, also from Kenya, won the female Half Marathon with 1:20:50 and Portugal’s Daniel Vieira Pinheiro won the male race with 1:07:43.(macaunews)
