The Guia Circuit Fun Run will return after a four-year hiatus, giving those without access to high-performance racing vehicles a chance to experience the Macau Grand Prix’s iconic course, the Macau Post Daily reports.

The event is part of the run-up to the 70th Macau Grand Prix and is scheduled to take place on 5 November at 6:30 am. The course is 6.2km long, starting and finishing at the Macau Grand Prix Building in the Outer Harbour area.

At a press conference yesterday, the Sports Bureau’s president Pun Weng Kun said he was pleased about the fun run’s return after an enforced hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic. He described it as a chance for locals and visitors to take in the Guia Circuit’s “charm” and a way to encourage public fitness.

Trophies will be awarded to the top ten female and male runners, said Pun. Anyone who completes the course under a certain time limit will receive a commemorative medal and towel.

Four thousand spots are being made available for the Guia Circuit Fun Run. Aspiring participants 15 years old and over must pre-register from Sunday and pay a fee of 50 patacas.

The Macau Grand Prix, meanwhile, kicks off on 11 November. Tickets are on sale now.
