20130927.jpgThe Macau International Kart Grand Prix will take place between October 10 and 13 with 100 kart racers from 9 countries,  announced Thursday  the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC)

The organizer Automobile General Association Macao – China (AAMC) will work with The Asian Karting Open Championship (AKOC) to bring the KZ kart competition to Macau.

Chong Coc Veng, President of AAMC, said that it is the first KZ competition in Macau and will host again the final round of the World Karting Championship.

“This competition is very popular in Europe. In Asia, we will promote it with Johnny Tan (Managing Director of AKOC). This year, we want to bring it to Macau and showcase it for a year.”

Chong also  said  the Coloane Karting circuit is also considered one of the best karting facilities in the region.”

Acting President of the Sport Development Board (ID), José Tavares, said that the government wants to use the Kart Grand Prix as a platform to cultivate more young local racers.

The event is organized by AAMC and is supported by ID and the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO). (macaunews)
