Indonesia’s National Team won Wednesday the 2013 Macau International Dragon Boat Race held at the Nam Van Lake.

China Nanhai Jiujiang was second and  Philippines Army team third.

In the Women’s Category China Nanhai Jiujiang won followed by the Indonesian and Philippines Army teams.

Macau was 6th in the Open category and 5th in Women’s category.

Forty-eight teams took part in the races.

“The competition was very hard, because the Chinese team [China Nanhai Jiujiang] and the other team [Philippines Army] are all strong, but eventually we won. Last year it [the result] was the same – we won the first place and China the second,” Silo, captain of the Indonesia National Team said.

The Indonesian National Team’s male team emerged as defending champions by a narrow margin this year, while China Nanhai Jiujiang’s female team retained their title for three years.

Officials of the Macau government, including Chief Executive Chui Sai On, attended the finals and presented trophies  to the winners of the races.(macaunews)
