The 2025 Macao Korean Film Festival takes place next week

The day-long festival is an opportunity to dig deeper into Korean cinema and learn about the country’s arts, history and culture through film
  • Tickets cost only 20 patacas for each film with screenings to take place at the the CGV Cinemas in Nova Mall

Macao’s CGV Cinemas in Nova Mall and the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong have organised the 2025 Macao Korean Film Festival, which will showcase four Korean films for one day only on 26 July.

The opening film is Harbin (2024), a period drama set in 1908 about Korean independence activists who risk their lives in a daring plot to assassinate the Japanese prime minister. This will be shown at 1:30 pm.

My Dearest Fu Bao (2024) is a South Korean documentary on the first panda born in South Korea, and her inevitable and bittersweet departure to China. Project Silence (2023) is a disaster thriller where civilians are trapped on a collapsing bridge. Both films will be shown at 4:10 pm.

Finally, Assassination (2015) is a thriller set in 1933 about a group of Korean resistance fighters who break a sniper out of prison to assassinate highly ranked Japanese officers. However, a traitor lurks among them. This film will be shown at 7 pm.

All tickets cost only 20 patacas and are available on CGV’s website.

The Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong aims to facilitate cultural exchange between Korean and Hong Kong artists while sharing Korean culture with citizens through cultural activities.
