Due to popular demand, another round of fado concerts has been confirmed for the Dom Pedro V Theatre, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (also known by its Portuguese acronym IC) has announced.

The next “Fado Nights” series will take place each Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening between 29 March and 5 May. The last series concluded on 24 March.

A fresh pair of highly experienced singers, Marta de Sousa and Francisco Moreira, will replace Tiago Correia and Bárbara Santos for this programme – the third organised by the IC. Both are well-known in their native Portugal, fado’s homeland.

Traditional Portuguese snacks and beverages will be available for purchase an hour before each concert in Dom Pedro V Theatre’s Mirror Hall, where local musicians will be performing as a warm-up act to the main event.

Concert-goers will also be able to learn about the history of fado via an exhibition at the theatre’s gallery.

Tickets are now on sale through the Macau Ticketing Network and mainland China’s Damai platform (they will also be made available on Hong Kong’s Cityline platform).
