Details of Macao’s 42nd annual marathon have been announced

The 42nd Macao International Marathon has been scheduled for 3 December, the Sports Bureau announced on Wednesday.

Participants can choose between entering the full marathon (42.2 km), a half marathon, or a mini-marathon. All races start from Taipa’s Olympic Sports Centre Stadium then, for the first time, will pass through the Galaxy Macau resort and the Cotai Strip – according to a statement released by the bureau.

The route will continue across both Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge and Sai Van Bridge.

Registration for the full marathon opens on 16 September, while registration for the half opens a day later, according to the bureau. 

The 2023 marathon is being sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Group and co-organised by Galaxy, the Sports Bureau, and the General Association of Athletics of Macau.
