Legendary Hong Kong diva, actress and MC Liza Wang Ming-chun, dubbed the Big Sister of the Hong Kong entertainment industry, will perform at the closing concert of the 32nd Macao Arts Festival tomorrow and on Thursday at The Venetian Theatre.

Tickets for the concert, when Wang will perform with The Macao Chinese Orchestra under conductor Hu Yongyan, have been sold out since the first day of sale, according to the Cultural Affairs Bureau.

Wang and the bureau’s Performing Arts Development Department Chief Cheang Kai Meng yesterday spoke about their thoughts on the concert and programme highlights.

Wang said that she will be performing her top hits which have been arranged in different styles, including Young’s Female Warrior, Love and Passion, as well as The Brave Chinese.

Wang said she was excited to be performing and that her songs were sent to the orchestra for practice a long time ago, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she needed to wait before she could perform in Macao.

With the performance having already been rescheduled twice she said that she did not want to postpone it any longer and, therefore, was happy to go through quarantine in Macao. She stressed that she enjoyed her two-week quarantine at the Grand Coloane Resort.
