Colourful floats and lion dancers making up The Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Tiger lit up Northern District on Saturday evening.

Fourteen floats took part in the final Chinese New Year parade, seven from government entities such as the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the Municipal Affairs Bureau, and the Cultural Affairs Bureau, and seven from local enterprises such as Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Resorts & Entertainment and MGM, the statement.

The floats were accompanied by a lion dance and started from Rua Norte do Patane and ended at Iao Hon Market Garden. Performers entertained the crowd with a show in the garden afterwards.

The floats are displayed in Praça do Tap Seac and can be viewed for free until next Sunday, fully illuminated from 6 pm to 10 pm daily.

A grand finale fireworks display themed Myriad of Fireworks on Lantern Festival will take place near the Macao Tower at 9 pm tomorrow.

MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Deputy Director Ricky Hoi Io Meng, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute Executive Director Sam Lei Chou Sam and Asia Tourism Exchange Centre representative Fang Liqun officiated at the opening ceremony.

The parade was organised by MGTO and co-organised by various entities including the Asia Tourism Exchange Centre, Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Cultural Affairs Bureau, The Macau Post Daily reported.
