Starting at midnight next Monday, arrivals from Hong Kong will have to practise seven days of self-health management once they have completed their 14-day hotel quarantine.
The hotel quarantine period for arrivals from Taiwan will be cut from 21 days to 14, however they will also be subject to seven days of “self-health management” after completing the 14-day hotel quarantine.
Leong Iek Hou, who heads the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Health Bureau (SSM), announced the new measures at the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre yesterday.
Leong said that arrivals will have to undergo Covid-19 nucleic acid tests on the first, second, fourth and last day of their self-health management week.
They will not be allowed to enter the mainland during this time, when their Macao Health Code colour will indicate yellow.
Those with a yellow Macao Health Code are barred from entering certain premises and venues in the city and using public transport, The Macau Post Daily reported.
