A 66-year-old female Macao resident has tested positive for Covid-19 and the building where she lives, Edificio Weng Heng on Rua Um do Bairro da Concórdia 1 No. 7 and 8 in the Fai Chi Kei area, near the Canidrome, has been listed as a Red Code Zone area, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced at around 1:30 pm today.

According to the announcement, Macao’s health authorities were informed by their Zhuhai counterparts this morning that a 10+1 batch of nucleic acid test (NAT) was found in the neighbouring city and eight testees involved were already in Macao.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre immediately arranged for those eight people to be tested for coronavirus, where the female Macao resident was found to test positive.

The Centre said more information will be announced later.

This was the first Covid-19 case found in the community since Macao’s last and worst outbreak that began on 18 June and lasted for nearly two months.
