Zhuhai health authorities have announced today that from tomorrow (Monday, 4 October) anyone crossing the border from Macao will be exempted from the 14-day mandatory quarantine period as long as they hold both a Covid-19 vaccination certificate and a negative nucleic acid test (NAT) which has been carried out within 48 hours.
It has not been announced whether arrivals will have to be vaccinated once or twice (fully), nor which vaccine brands would be recognised by Zhuhai’s health authorities.
The Zhuhai New Coronavirus Pneumonia Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters added that people living in the red code and yellow code lockdown neighbourhoods of Macao, personnel in high-risk positions in quarantine hotels, and staff in hospitals designated for the treatment of Covid-19 are temporarily barred from entering mainland China.
Arrivals under the age of 12 or those with proof that they cannot be vaccinated against Covid-19 will be exempt from this measure.
