In a sudden U-turn, the Education and Youth Development Bureau has halted the resumption of classes today.

An emergency notification from the Health Bureau warned of a suspicious positive sample waiting for re-examination and a certain risk in the community.

According to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre, 10 individuals will be re-tested after a mixed sample returned a positive result for Covid-19.

The sample contained specimens of 10 different people who were tested at the Kiang Wu Hospital. All individuals will be picked up and taken by ambulance to Conde S. Januário Hospital to retake their NATs.

As a result, the Education and Youth Development Bureau suspended today’s class resumption until further notice. Schools are requested to make proper arrangements and notify parents. If students have already returned to school, the school is requested to take appropriate care, strictly observe the epidemic prevention guidelines, and wait for parents to pick them up.
