A new annual awards programme, recognising companies making worthy contributions to the environment, social, and governance (ESG) sectors in Macao, is being launched by the France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC).

The Macau ESG Awards will recognize what the FMCC terms “exceptional commitment to ESG principles” in the categories of Best Project, Best SME, and Best NGO. The aim, organisers say, is to provide “an impetus for others to follow suit”.

In a media statement, the chamber said that the awards serve “as our effort to recognize those who are leading the way in terms of their business practices” in a world “rapidly awakening to the necessity of impactful sustainable and responsible” ways of doing business.

A panel of jurors, drawn from the FMCC membership, will evaluate the entries, which must be submitted by 1 August.

The winners will be announced at FMCC Charity Gala Dinner on 15 September. More information about the Macau ESG Awards, including an entry form, can be found here

The FMCC is a non-profit organisation founded in 2008 to promote bilateral cooperation and business links between the Franco-Sino communities in Macau.
