The regular springtime craft market at the Praça do Tap Seac opened yesterday and saw the return of Hong Kong stallholders for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the Macau Post Daily, the market features 220 stalls offering clothing, accessories, arts and crafts, and food. A number of music performances are also scheduled at the market.
Some 34 stalls are operated by Hong Kong vendors, who have not been able to participate in the market during the past three years of pandemic travel restrictions.

One Hong Kong stallholder told Macau Post Daily that he preferred the market at Tap Seac because it was roomier than similar markets in Hong Kong. Another said she enjoyed eating out in Macao once the day’s trading was done.
However, one said that it was “no small burden” to transport their wares to Macao and pay for accommodation for the market’s duration.
The market at Tap Seac is being held from 20 April through to 23 April and again from 27 April to 30 April.
