Following an overwhelming response from runners of all shapes and sizes, registration for all race categories in the 2022 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon is full.
Registration for the mini marathon category started at 9 am yesterday, while all places for the marathon and half marathon were filled on Saturday, according to the Sports Bureau (ID).
The Active Group Trophies will be awarded to the school, sports association, government-registered organisation, and public and private entity categories, based on the highest number of participants who will finish the mini-marathon.
The marathon will take place on 4 December, starting and finishing at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium. The marathon and half marathon will start at 6 am, while the mini marathon will start at 6:15 am.
The bureau urged participants to read the regulations carefully, familiarise themselves with the race route and prepare for the event “based on their own physical conditions”.
The event is title-sponsored by resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and organised by the bureau and the General Association of Athletics of Macao, The Macau Post Daily reported.
