The National Day fireworks display is set to light up the night sky near the Macau Tower at 9 pm tomorrow evening.
The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said that the display will be in four themed chapters – Long Live the Motherland, The Golden Days, Shared Vision into a Better Future, and Build the Chinese Dream Together – and will last for around 15 minutes.
The city’s annual Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, which used to be held from early September through National Day, was cancelled in 2020 and last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong noted yesterday that Macao recorded its highest daily number of visitors on Friday last week, at around 26,000, since the Covid-19 outbreak that severely afflicted the city during the summer, The Macau Post Daily reported.
